Shoutout to the Makai team with excellent customer service. I came to this location on Saturday 08/24 at 7:06 pm and the team was friendly and catering to me !

This seems like a small place but food is better than I expected. I was wondering if there was something to this place but nope. Just an island inspired restaurant that serves great fresh food. I had their chicken wings and katsu with macaroni salad and kimchi slaw. Definitely one of the best island food I've had thus far since moving to Vegas. I have much more to explore but this place is a go to for me currently. The inside it very mellow and staff is great. Friend and attentive to what you need. They don't carry hot sauce so just be aware of that. Everything was great. I'm coming back for lunch today lol

We got a medium and a large for $28.15. It was delicious. We got a few pieces of katsu from the medium but split the large one last wednesday night. We saved the medium for saturday's lunch. (And it was easy to warm up too.) We got the chicken katsu, teriyaki chicken & kalua pork with double mac salad and rice, mmm. Everything was really tasty. The mac salad had a lot of flavor. The kalua pork was not as fatty as you'd think, which was surprising. The katsu was perfect. And the teri chicken was very good. The sauces were also delish. I am a big fan of buying once, but eating twice. I think this might be our hawaiian food go-to. And the big plus, is it's close to home too. Our son loves it. When given the choice he wants this type of food (we don't get it as often as we used to, with rising prices, we keep it to once a weekend, the eating out).

Love the Mochico chicken here and the steak. Been goin here since it opened years ago. Like the concept that it's already cooked and u just pick the proteins and side dishes. Selection is good. Poke is now disappointing. Not the same as when they just opened. Tuna stringy too. It wasnt thawed properly or something tastes funny. Hope they fix this. A lot of poke places openednear the area and you can taste the difference

While I was waiting for officemates who were picking out paint for our new office, I wandered next door to Makai. It a steamer tray spot, much like a Chinese express restaurant. I really didn't see anything I wanted to take home, except musubi. A nice young woman at the register helped me. Teriyaki or Plain musubi? I only know that teriyaki is on every musubi. She offered me a choice of sauce too. Teriyaki or Spicy Teriyaki? The musubi was good and the dipping spicy Teriyaki was good. Never dipped before, but it was cool. My office peeps like the food here. Maybe I'll try lunch here in the future.
